The light is so strong and white in the middle of a sunny day in this Pacific part of Nicaragua, that you can be quite thankful when the sky turns dark and you can already smell the humidity of the earth. The vibrant colours around become intense and divine. Granada (estimated population of 123,697 and historically one of Nicaragua’s most important cities) is not just happy because of the her graceful houses and buildings, people, dogs, bicycles, horses and vehicles in the streets. It’s a colourful majestic city, on the border  of el Gran Lago de Nicaragua, Lake Cocibolga (of tectonic origin and with an area of 8,264 km2). In the rainy season we can specially appreciate the tonalities on the architecture and nature of this place (and it’s not that hot!). I always love to come at least once a year, when I go back to Nicaragua and feel especially grateful of the pictures, the most simple ones, we can make on this magical place. La luz es fuerte y extremadamente blanca a la mitad de un día asoleado en ésta región del Pacifico de Nicaragua, tanto que agradeces cuando el cielo oscurece y empieza a oler a tierra mojada. Los vibrantes colores alrededor se intensifican y se vuelven divinos. Granada (con una población estimada de 123,697 e históricamente una de las mas importantes ciudades de Nicaragua) no solo es alegre por las hermosas casas y edificios que la rodean, la gente, perros, caballos y vehículos que pueblan sus calles. Es una majestuosa y colorida ciudad, a orillas del Gran Lago de Nicaragua, el Cocibolca (de origen tectónico y con un área de 8,264 km2). En época de lluvia podemos apreciar especialmente las tonalidades de su arquitectura y naturaleza (además de ser menos caliente!). Me encanta regresar al menos una vez al año, cuando viajo a Nicaragua, y me siento especialmente agradecida con las fotos, las mas sencillas, que uno logra tomar en éste lugar mágico.
