Iara Vega-Linhares (Born in Santiago, Chile, in 1972)
Greetings and welcome to my blog! I’m Iara Vega Linhares, and I’m thrilled to have you here.
I’m a blend of Brazilian and Nicaraguan heritage, or as we say at home, a “brasinica”, born in Chile in 1972. In 2007, Biel-Bienne in Switzerland became my adopted city, and Switzerland, my homeland.
Through my photography, I aim to forge connections and document the human, the social, and the every day through photography. My recent exhibited and published projects include collaborations like Amiche with Ariane Tonon (from 2022 to the present) and solo ventures such as Bénévoles, des engagements biennois (from 2021 to 2023), “Temps Suspendu” (2019), #FoodSweetHome (2018), LiensLazos (2012-2018), My hair is not your hair (2010), Bern under the rain (2008), Bern in Motion (2008).
With a background in journalism, I’ve traversed various corners of the globe, working in communication and graphic design across Brazil, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, the Balkans, and Peru, until finding my home in Biel/Bienne. It’s this journey through diverse cultures that inspired me to pick up a camera and use it as a tool to narrate the rich tapestry of life’s stories. Join me as I continue to explore, document, and share these captivating narratives through my lens.
With this blog, I don’t just aim to showcase my exhibition projects; I also intend to share occasional images, anecdotes, and moments from my life. These will include spontaneous snapshots and intuitive thoughts, last-minute ideas, essentially serving as a platform to capture bursts of creativity from time to time. You’ll get glimpses into my past during the pandemic, meet the people I collaborate with professionally, catch excerpts from my exhibitions, and get to know cherished characters. You might notice periods of silence, which are usually due to work commitments that sometimes take me away from this platform.

Mi nombre es Alba Caceres, soy Nicaraguense, abogada y radico en Alexandria Virginia. Soy voluntaria en una organizacion no gubernamental y miembro de un grupo de mujeres que estamos tratando de crear un boletin y te escribo para solicitarte tus consejos, no soy periodista, tengo 56 años y muchos problemas con la tecnologia.
